"Ultimate" Job Seeker Skills – Novel Ways to Research Your Next Position

Led by: CTC Coach Mike Munger and Assistant Recruiting Manager, MAKE Corporation

CTC Coach Mike Munger brings his "recruiter" perspective to job search.

It’s said that over 70% of jobs are filled without recruiters or job sites like LinkedIn. While networking is a large piece of that, so is seeking out and finding jobs posted on small/medium size career pages. Those posting have less applicants and may be more willing to train new skills than anything a recruiter or job site will have.

    Make the pivot

    • What better way to make a career change than see how it’s done! We’ll dive into job titles and browse hundreds of profiles to understand what companies are willing to train specific skill sets or hire folks in transition.

    Ensure you can compete

    • We’ll talk about how to view the details of like experienced individuals, offering key insights into strength of summary section, experience bullet points, and overall searchability when we dive into LinkedIn’s premier recruiter.

    Easy networking steps

    • Once we identify and opportunity or target employer, we’ll talk about execution and how to use free features on LinkedIn to send a specific message that effortlessly allows you to leave your comfort zone and “ask for it” all from the seat of your couch.

    About the Presenter:

Mike is a Recruiting Manager for the MAKE Corporation. Mike has previous experience as a technical recruiter for the LaSalle Network . Mike holds a B.S. in Sales Management with a minor in History and Organizational Leadership and Supervision from Purdue University.

DEADLINE TO REGISTER and TAKE ASSESSMENT (and Pay) is November 12th

CTC StrengthsFinder (VIRTUAL Zoom) Workshop Intensive.

Led by: Bliss Hanson, CTC Coach, CliftonStrengths (Strengthfinders) Facilitator, and Owner BHF Coaching

NOTE: It’s called INTENSIVE because the workshop debrief lasts 4 hours!  And by ZOOM.

Yet, do not fear – it is very informal and overlaps with a “working lunch” – so please feel free to bring yours.

You also will have time to work alone in the workshop and privately with Bliss.

    Workshop Description:

People who use their strengths every day are six times more likely to be engaged in their work and three times more likely to say they have an excellent quality of life. - Gallup

You may think you know what your strengths are, but putting them into words – and more importantly, to action – is critical to landing meaningful employment. The CTC StrengthsFinder Virtual Zoom Workshop Intensive is built around StrengthsFinder 2.0, created in 1998 and rooted in more than 40 years of research, this assessment has helped millions discover and develop their natural talents.

The Intensive provides a unique opportunity for CTC clients to move through discovery to intentional planning and action. Don’t waste any more time with a scattershot approach to your search.

Led by CTC Coach Bliss Hansen, participants will use the “power of the group” to illuminate their strengths and how they work with others.  In order to accommodate our new reality of social distancing, the Intensive has been reworked using the full versatility of Zoom so participants can feel just as engaged as if they were in person.  The VIRUAL Intenstive includes break-out sessions, a working lunch, and private access to the facilitator in real time, and other engaging tools and features.

StrengthsFinder Assessment is ideal for professionals who:

    • Career Changers
    • Re-launchers (Those returning to work after extended time out of workforce)
    • New Professionals
    • Headscratchers (Unsure on direction)
    • Stuck and Stalled
    • Passive Job Seekers (Employed)
    • Unfulfilled and Uninspired

The StrengthsFinder Virtual Zoom Workshop Intensive includes:

    • Access to online StrengthsFinder assessment
    • Interactive, 4-hour group Zoom workshop
    • One (1) individual coaching session post-workshop (to be completed within 3 weeks virtually)

As part of this experience, you will:

    • Identify and understand your Top Five Strengths
    • Develop strategies to maximum your strengths on your resume, LinkedIn profile and value statement (verbal introduction)
    • Create success stories to support your strengths

    Client feedback:

"Bliss is in the right career! Her five strengths were spot on. She was excellent at listening and summarizing back to us."

Clients who have registered and paid for the workshop will receive instructions on how to access and complete the StrengthsFinder assessment the Monday prior to the workshop. Clients must complete the assessment by the Thursday evening prior to the workshop so they can download it and email it to the facilitator the day before so she may review it. The facilitator does not have access to the online version.
